THE SACRED PROSTITUTE: INVOKING THE DANCE

It is time to restore performance as a community transformational process. This unique soul based choreographic process explores the archetype of the Sacred Prostitute. Her presence lives transculturally in the collective conscious as a way to explore the universal questions of love, sex, spirit, and the divine union of BeLoveds. This deep journey includes nudity, self pleasuring rituals, and generous self exploration through conversation and text as we create a performance ritual. The core movement vocabulary derives from modern, ballet, West African, Middle Eastern, and Contact Improv.

The performance premieres in NYC April 21-22, 2012, with the opportunity to tour.

Prerequisites:

• Full participation in the Dance as a Shamanic Ceremony.
• Completion of application and successful audition, Saturday, 9/24/11.
• Injury free and in good health.
